After the closure of the American production facilities, Deutsche Wurlitzer in Hüllhorst continued developing and producing jukeboxes. As a result, the Wurlitzer brand remained an important part of the international jukebox industry for many years.
The Lyric 3D stood out because of its distinctive 3D effect in the front glass. Through a special optical design, the machine created the illusion that there was almost no visible mechanism inside the jukebox. This effect gave the machine a modern and futuristic appearance.
The striking visual effect attracted the attention of guests and made the jukebox a visual centerpiece in bars and venues. At the same time, the model reflected the design trends of the late 1970s, which emphasized clean shapes, lighting effects, and modern styling.
Even at a time when hi-fi systems, discotheques, and new audio technologies increasingly competed with jukeboxes, the machines remained emotional focal points in many venues. Production of Wurlitzer jukeboxes continued in Germany well into the 2000s, demonstrating the long-lasting appeal of the classic jukebox concept.
