Gabel „Kuro“.

The Gabel “Kuro” is one of the rarest jukeboxes of the early 1940s. Only about 24 machines of this model were built.

It was produced by the Gabel Manufacturing Company in Chicago, a company that had already been experimenting with automatic music systems for many years.

The Kuro stands out because of its streamlined cabinet design with vertical wooden slats, strongly influenced by the Art Deco style of the late 1930s. The result is a machine that appears both elegant and modern.

The jukebox plays 78-rpm shellac records and offers 24 selectable titles.

Today the Gabel Kuro is considered an extremely rare collector’s piece and an important example of early jukebox design.
