Capehart CA10-20.

The Capehart CA10-20 is one of the technically most interesting jukeboxes of the late 1930s.

After the AMI “F”, it was the second jukebox capable of selecting and playing either side of a record. This effectively doubled the available music selection.

The innovation lay in its unique record-changing mechanism.
Instead of turning the record over, the entire record magazine rotated by 180 degrees. This allowed the machine to play the selected side of the record.

With 20 selections on 78-rpm shellac records, the CA10-20 offered a considerable music choice for its time.

The sophisticated mechanism made the machine technically impressive but also complex to manufacture and maintain.
For this reason, only about 200 units were built.

The CA10-20 is also considered the last jukebox produced by Capehart, marking the end of the company’s short but technically remarkable involvement in jukebox manufacturing.
