The magazine contained 10 shellac records, but thanks to a mechanism developed by Clifford H. Green, both sides of each record could be played. This resulted in 20 selectable songs.
At that time many competing music machines offered only 8 to 10 selections, making the AMI “F” several years ahead of its competitors.
Another distinctive feature was the separate coin system:
Each record had its own coin slot, which activated the selected title.
With its technical sophistication and comparatively large music selection, the AMI “F” became an important step in the development of the modern jukebox.
Today this model is considered a rare and historically significant machine in early jukebox history.
