Nintendo Game Boy. By the late 1980s, Nintendo had already established itself as one of the leading companies in the video game industry. In 1989, the company introduced the Game Boy, a handheld game console that made video gaming truly portable.

The Game Boy featured a compact design, a monochrome display, and interchangeable game cartridges, allowing players to take their games anywhere.

The system became hugely successful thanks to games such as Tetris, which was often bundled with the console, and popular titles like Donkey Kong.

The Game Boy went on to become one of the best-selling handheld gaming systems of all time and shaped an entire generation of players. Nintendo demonstrated that video games could be enjoyed not only in arcades or at home on a television, but also on the go.
