Batmobile, USA, 1989. Vehicle from the film “Batman,” directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton. Designed by Terry Ackland-Snow, John Evans, and Keith Short. Powered by a jet turbine producing 3110 kW / 4200 hp

the vehicle has a theoretical top speed of up to 782 km/h with booster. Armament includes side-mounted grappling hook launchers, disc projectile launchers and bomb dispensers, as well as side chassis-mounted shin breakers. A central “foot” beneath the vehicle can lift the car and rotate it 180°. Heavy armor (“Cocoon”) provides self-protection. Rear oil slick dispensers and smoke emitters help evade pursuit, while two forward-mounted Browning machine guns and an exhaust afterburner enhance operational capability. The emergency “Battmissile” mode sheds all exterior body panels outside the central fuselage and reconfigures the wheels and axle track to pass through narrow openings; once activated, the body must be rebuilt. Two-seat cockpit with aircraft-style instrumentation, passenger monitor, self-diagnosis system, CD recorder, and voice command with recognition. The cockpit is not original and comes from a MiG-21 aircraft.
