Wurlitzer „Tele Disc“.

The Wurlitzer “Tele Disc”, introduced in 1983, is one of the most unusual jukeboxes of the late jukebox era. Due to its distinctive round shape it quickly received the nickname “Flying Saucer.”

Its futuristic design was intended to blend into modern living rooms, making it suitable not only for bars and public venues but also for private home use.

The machine could be operated using a remote control, allowing users to select music conveniently from a distance. In combination with the remote selector FW160/161, the Tele Disc functioned as a fully featured jukebox.

Optional external speaker units were also available, which are today even rarer than the jukebox itself.

Although technically interesting, the concept was not commercially successful. Today the Wurlitzer Tele Disc is considered a rare and highly sought-after collector’s item.
