The Music Cassette in Jukeboxes.

With the success of the Compact Cassette, a new technological development also reached the world of music machines. The audio cassette began to appear in some jukebox systems.

Automatic cassette changers allowed several songs to be played consecutively without manual intervention.
This enabled jukeboxes to offer a larger selection of music to their guests.

The compact cassette format provided several advantages.
Cassettes were robust, lightweight, and space-saving, making them well suited for continuous operation in bars and restaurants.
The transport of music programs also became much easier.

Operators could quickly replace or update music selections without handling heavy record magazines.
This simplified maintenance and operation significantly.

Despite these advantages, the vinyl record remained the dominant music format in jukeboxes for many years.
It continued to provide superior sound quality and was widely available in the music market.

The cassette therefore remained mostly a supplementary technology, while traditional record jukeboxes continued to define the atmosphere of many venues.
