Louis Novelty „Studio 892“.

The “Studio 892” by the American manufacturer Louis Novelty Co. is a remarkable jukebox from the late 1930s, both technically and visually.

One of its most distinctive features is the amplifier displayed behind a glass door inside the cabinet. This unusual design allowed visitors to see the electronic components while the machine was operating.

The amplifier is equipped with two vacuum tubes that visually accompany treble and bass signals with light effects. These indicators respond to the music, turning the sound into a visual experience as well.

A particularly striking feature is the so-called “Magic Eye”, a green glowing indicator tube. Originally designed to show signal level and tuning, it also added an impressive visual element to the jukebox.

With 12 selectable records played at 78 rpm, the Studio 892 offered a considerable selection of music for its time.

The stylish design was created by Everett B. Eckland.
